Catching Up with Call Me Mildy 2018

We've got tons of fun coming up March 3 as we open the Mid-Winter Blues Festival in front of Big Sugar. Then we skip over a block to the groovy The Capitol, to keep the party going for the festival after-party. We're also recording several new originals at Session 1 Records, operated by Steven Dueck.  So far five new tunes have been laid down, with more to come as we release our second album in Spring 2018.

And there's more festival fun in our horizon. After the March 3 appearance with Big Sugar at the Mid-Winter Blues Festival, we'll gear up for a return visit to Regina's artsy/groovy Cathedral Village Arts Festival as a main-stage headliner on May 24! And we'll also venture into South Sask's grooviest music festival, the Bow Valley Jamboree, on July 28. Hey, that's my birthday. My present is getting to perform in this burgeoning and well-put together music fest!

Here's a peek at some upcoming activitiy for 2018:

March 3 Casino Regina, Mid-Winter Blues Festival finale, with Boogie Patrol and Big Sugar

March 3 The Capitol, Mid-Winter Blues Festval After-Party, late night fun!

April 28 The Broadway Lounge Regina, more fun at the BL

May 3 Bud's on Broadway Saskatoon, a return visit to Saskatoon's iconic music room

May 12 The Capitol Regina, we've invited the School of Rock Adult Band to hit the stage in front of us with some cookin' rock covers, before Mildy hits the stage and unleases some new originals from its upcoming album

May 24 Cathedral Village Arts Festival, we return as a main-stage headliner. 10:30pm start with exciting entertainment leading up to our set. Take in the entire night. It's a free festival event.

July 1 Regina Beach Golf Club - Canada Day Drifters Cabaret

July 28 Bow Valley Jamboree, Bow Valley Sask. We're excited to play this burgeoing south Sask fest!

August 27 The Bushwakker Brew Pub. Join us for a session of Monday Night Blues at the Wakker. Try the Dungarvin Red while you're there. The wings are great too!

October 20 The Broadway Lounge. They keep inviting us back, so we'll keep coming to Regina's Broadway music spot.

December 26 The Bushwakker Brew Pub, Boxing Day Blues Night. Seems like a tradition, one that we like to keep, our annual invite to the Wakker for Boxing Day.

I'll keep posting our 2018 activity as it gets confirmed. Cheers to the 2018 live music scene.

Exciting News for Call Me Mildy

I am super-excited to announce that we've been selected to open for Canada's iconic rock/blues/reggae band on March 3, 2018 at the Casino Regina as part of the Mid-Winter Blues Festival finale. So get set to check us out on March 3 as we open for Big Sugar!!  Not only is this an iconic band, but its a band that I look up to as a model of my own band, one that grooves on blues rock and reggae vibes. Big Sugar gave us the thumbs up to open for them, we're pumped and honoured at the same time!

We also have some groovy upcoming gigs in the Fall calendar, as we take stage at The Waterfront on September 30. This cool Regina Beach venue is a first time stop for us, and we're looking forward to our first trip to this venue, and hope to come back.

We also revisit Regina's Broadway Lounge, home of some of the best rock bands in the city. We've been playing there for three years now, and we continue to have good times at the BL! Check us out October 7 for a Thanksgiving Saturday night great time.

Upcoming fall events include another first time venue as we book into The Capitol, Regina's groovy jazzy blues venue downtown on Dec 2. Throw in a private event in December, and appearances in Lumsden and Saskatoon, plus a xmas week blues night, and the next couple months promise to be busy and fun.

Fall Calendar:

September 30 The Waterfront, Regina Beach

October 7 Broadway Lounge

October 27 Lumsden

October 30 Bushwakker Blues Night

November 11 Regina Beach Golf Club

December 2 The Capitol

December 8 Private Event

December 18 Bushwakker xmas week blues

December 21 Saskatoon Bud's on Broadway

And we can expand our geographic locations of radio stations playing Call Me Mildy, as CKUW 95.5 Winnipeg spins tunes from my initial CD 'It's About Time', released in 2016. I'm continuing to get radio play in the US on indie radio, and France as Radio4 France reached out to me for my CD and bio. Interesting that song sales from France spiked not long after and France passed Germany as the #2 country buying my tunes behind Canada.  And I am always grateful for radio spins here at home from CJTR 91.3FM.

CD and streaming sales now include India and the Phillipines, to go along with several Euro countries, USA, Australia, New Zealand, and of course our beloved Canada. Humbling!!

Just added: Bud's on Broadway (Saskatoon) Dec 21, Lumsden Hotel Oct 28, The Revival Music Room Nov 18

Call Me Mildy signs publishing contract

We had a great summer so far. Montmartre's All Folked Up festival was a treat, and they treated us great! Super fun to be in the midst of a groovy three-day lineup featuring some of the province's and Western Canada's most interesting indie bands. We were honoured to be part of the festival.

Earlier in May we played Regina Cathedral Village Arts Festival, hitting the mainstage for a fun performance to a full house. Thanks for having us out!

Next up in August is Regina's cool vibing Lancaster Taphouse with no cover!

And more cool news, just days after completing the mastering process of two new songs, Call Me Mildy's new gritty blues/rocker Where You Goin is selected for a publishing contract with Chicago's Music Of the Sea Publishing. Call Me Mildy is now part of the world of pitching songs to movie and tv music producers through its new publisher.

Mildy unveiled the tune at a couple recent performances, including at the Casino Regina on April 6. More songs from Mildy's cd 'It's About Time' will be added to the catalouge for distribution to several countries for synch opportunities.

Meanwhile, Mildy continues to get airplay on US indie radio and a variety of CJTR radio shows, while booking performance opportunities already into 2018.

Feeling great.

Winter Spring 2017

After a busy December, Call Me Mildy takes a break in January but not before recording two new songs Summer Love and Where You Goin? The band invaded Regina's Blue Door studio to lay down the songs, and Greg took advantage of the studio time to create another Song of Love.

February sees the band return to Bobby's Place Regina, and an opportunity to support Regina's Brighter Futures for Children on April 6 at the Casino Regina. Come out and support this wonderful event.

And as it shores up its Winter/Spring performing calendar, Call Me Mildy has three songs being played on U.S. indie radio Hot Wax Radio. Mildy songs 'Highway 59', 'Two O'clock in the Morning' and '13 Bar Blues' have been selected for airplay.

And just when it seemed that getting airplay in the U.S. and in Regina on CJTR FM wasn't enough, Call Me Mildy was contacted by groovy Radio4 in France and will be given airplay!  NIce way to start 2017!

And there's more! Saskatchewan's grooviest festival in the prairie country-side has invited Call Me Mildy to join the fun! The band is super excited to see all you great festival-goers live in person at the Montmartre All Folked Up Festival. Looking forward to a beatiful night in Montmartre on July 8.

And we'd be amiss not to mention that our drummer and good friend Gary Graham will be leaving the band and moving to South Carolina. Gary was a big part of getting the Mildy band off the ground three years ago, and we've played bars, cabarets, festivals and parties around the province, not to mention his great work in the studio on the Call Me Mildy cd 'It's About Time.'  Gary will be missed, but not before playing with us in several upcoming gigs.

Joining the Mildy band is stellar drummer Roland Schulz (Random Groove, Transient), a rocking blues drummer that has been active on the Regina music scene for several years. Rollie joins the band in time for the October 29 Halloween cabaret.

Call Me Mildy adds Winter 2016 dates

Call Me Mildy's busy winter just getting busier. After a busy New Year's week, the band is back at it at cozy Shannon's Irish Pub and Grill. Great atmosphere, come in for pint and some jumpin' tunes. Last week the band added the cool indie vibe of Lancaster Taphouse to its March calendar.

February and March promise to be extra special. Call Me Mildy will be featured in two Mid-Winter Blues Festival events, including the Festival Kickoff at Bobby's Place on Saturday Feb 20. The Wakamow Valley Shake Off the Winter Blues event on Friday Feb 26 promises to be a high-energy blast. Cool gigs upcoming at the groovy Lancaster Taphouse on Friday March 4, and the following Saturday March 12 at Regina's Broadway Lounge.

And, to add to all the excitement, Call Me Mildy's debut CD, 'It's About Time' will be unleashed in time for all the performance activity. The CD will also be available through CD Baby and itunes.

Mildy starting 2016 with Wakamow Valley Blues Night

Call Me Mildy wrapped up 2015 with two performances during the final week of the year. New Year's Eve found the band welcoming the new year with a festive crowd at Moose Jaw's Chillers Brewpub. And three days prior the band played to a large crowd at Regina's Bushwakker Brewpub. Gotta love them brewpubs!

Call Me Mildy looks forward to February 26's Wakamow Valley 'Shake Off The Winter Blues' Night in Moose Jaw. Prior to that, the latest studio recordings will be finalized for editing before being sent for mastering, and the completion of the Call Me Mildy CD!

Call Me Mildy having fun in Fall 2015. The band played two dates recently at Shannon's Pub in Regina in June and September, and a June date at Bushwakker Monday Night Blues. Great fun at Broadway Lounge in Regina on October 3. Plus more upcoming Monday Night Blues dates at Bushwakker in November and December.

Call Me Mildy recording more tunes

Call Me Mildy is returning to the studio to record more original tunes. One week after their February 25th performance as part of the Mid-Winter Blues Festival, the band will lay down tunes at Regina's Blue Door studio. After that they head to Piggy's in Saskatoon for a two-night stay on May 15/16, then return for a Monday Night Blues show at Bushwakker Brew Pub on June 8.

More gigs are getting confirmed for Spring. Stay tuned.

Call Me Mildy gets larger!

Call Me Mildy is expanding its lineup by adding Phil Nordin on bass. Nordin is a veteran of the rock/country music scene, and brings his six string bass to the stage in his Mildy debut on February 25 as part of the Mid Winter Blues Festival. He'll join the Mildy band - Greg Mildenberger, Dale Thomas, Gary Graham - as the good times continue.

Call Me Mildy receives music publishing offer!

Call Me Mildy songwriter Greg Mildenberger receives a contract offer for two of his original songs from a U.S. music publisher. His tunes Life is Funny, and Not My Style, are offered a contract for movie/tv synch placement. What a great month!!

Call Me Mildy gets US radio play out of NYC!

Call Me Mildy has two alternative/blues songs going into rotation at New York City's internet radio Relax Free Radio, specializing in radio play for indie artists. My Woman Left Me and Still Regret are in rotation and the Friday Podcast featuring their newest indie artist finds. Cool
